UEFA Announce Champions League Player of the Season [See Details]
The UEFA Champions League advisory committee have named the best player in the just concluded 2021/22 football season.
Real Madrid’s forward player, Karim Benzema was named the winner of the award following his fantastic form in the competition. The Galacticos beat Liverpool 1-0 in the final game of the competition in Paris on Saturday, May 28th, 2022.
Benzema scored 15 goals in the UEFA Champions League, 10 of the goals came in the knockout stages of the competition. He scored a hat-trick against Paris Saint-Germain, four against Chelsea and three goals against Manchester City.
He is the third-joint highest goal scorer with Robert Lewandowski in the all-time European Cup goals table. Benzema’s teammate Vinicius Junior was named the Best Young Player of the competition.
